Introduction to Yoga: A Six-Week Workshop: Begins April 21st, 2010 t0 May 21, 2010, Wed. at 6:45 p.m., $60/workshop.

New to yoga? Getting back to the mat?
If so, this is the workshop for you! Learn how to start a safe and effective yoga practice, increase flexibility, reduce stress, and strengthen your body.
Topics Covered:
· Basics of Breathing (Pranayama)
· Bandhas (energy centers/muscle groups that help support proper alignment and support to the body)
· Introduction to the Philosophy of Yoga
· Basic Postures of Vinyasa style yoga (Asana)
The instructor:
Liz Aitken-O'Brien has been practicing yoga daily since November 7, 2000. Liz has studied and practiced many disciplines of yoga including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Viniyoga, Vinyasa, restorative, now focusing on Anusara. Her studies have led her on many retreats including a spiritual trip to India.
Liz's class is fun and playful including all styles of yoga with a focus on alignment and muscular energy and the use of props. Besides teaching the asanas, she loves to share her knowledge of yogic philosophy to help her students practice the real yoga, life off the mat.
Liz received her 280 hour certification from Yoga Alliance accredited "Yoga Synthesis" from her teacher, Raji Thron.
